Is it okay for my baby to sleep in various places in my home?

While babies can sleep in different locations, consistency is very important when establishing healthy sleep habits and teaching independent sleep skills. During the sleep training process, I recommend that your baby sleep in the same sleep environment as much as possible.

Moving between a crib, bassinet, and co-sleeping can be confusing for a baby because each environment feels different and often comes with different sleep expectations and parental responses. Consistency helps your baby understand where sleep happens and allows them to develop confidence falling asleep independently.

For the best results, I recommend choosing one primary sleep space—ideally the crib—and using it consistently for both nighttime sleep and naps whenever possible. The more consistent we are, the faster and easier the learning process tends to be for your baby.
